My inital Idea

My initial idea, in which Shannon and I were planning on doing to begin with was a comedy horror, however after watching a few it wasn't what we wanted to do. The reason for this being because we wanted to mainly focus on the idea of horror and when the directors  added in the comedy value it didn't become this scary film anymore it was more funny. An example of a comedy horror is Shaun of the dead - if you watch it the film its self isn't very scary.

So now Shannon and I are hoping to create a teaser trailer in the genre of horror. Our target audience would be people around the ages of 16 -25 (young adults.) We have decided to do this because of the results from the questionnaire. The most popular genre was comedy however we feel that would be a difficult one to do as people's perception on what is funny and what isn't is different. The second most favourite genre was horror. One of our thoughts was to combine the two ideas and do a horror comedy, however there are only a few out there and the ones which are on the market today, mainly focus on the comedy side of things and aren't very scary at all, so we decided to stick to the one genre and that being horror. The age range, came from, where we handed out questionnaires out to students we thought that would be an appropriate age range, however they have to be old enough and mature enough to be able to watch a horror and not get too scared from it. We are hoping to target our film to the male gender predominantly, however have aspects in which females would like so that both genders can watch it. At this initial time we feel our trailer should be able 1 min 30 seconds, as this is what other products on the market at the moment have and had positive feedback from the questionnaire.
