Representation of characters within horror trailers.
Women (very stereotypical) -
- They tend to be venerable.
- Large breasted. (sexualised)
- Blond long hair.
- High pitched scream - which happens a lot.
- Weak / in need of male protection.
- Over protective (Never helps)
- Thoughtless and not too clever.
- Take on the Passive role.
(These are the same for most genres!) One film which does not follow this trend, is Aliens, which has Sigourney Weaver in. Here she is portrayed as more of a masculine person, because she has taken the lead role and uses a gun ECT.
Man-
- Strong
- Dominant
- Muscly
- Able to fight / use a gun.
- Brave
- Heroes
Even in the film mentioned above (Aliens), there were still men taking some of the lead roles, and they were doing the stereotypical role, apart from this time they didn't come out the hero.
