Hammer films is one of the biggest horror film companies. They have produced films such as The woman in black, which is about to be released in a couple of months, and also let me in, which came out in cinemas in 2010.
Hammer Films was launched in 1934. The first film they produced was The Public Life of Henry The Ninth. After they produced this there was a section of inactivity where nothing happened because world war two was going on, so there was no need for films. Even to this day Hammer Films are still going and creating more films. They are doing more and more films, which means the TV series, Books and sound tracks side of the company is dissolving. This is a major problem because they main income comes from films and the more they do the bigger they are becoming. Last year in 2011 they produced 13 films, and we are still in the first month of 2012 and they are already bringing out a film, including big names such as Daniel Radcliffe.
They do special screens of their films and create them into special events to create more income for the company - meaning more profit.
